First Post and A Word about Canon

Hi.

This blog is a fictional narrative set in the Redwall canon slash universe.

If you are unfamiliar with the words Redwall and canon, allow me to explain. Redwall is a series of novels written by Brian Jacques. You may be familiar with his other works: The Flying Dutchman, Urso Brunov. Please feel free to use the link to learn more about Brian Jacques or his works.

Now, there are several denotations of the word canon. For this post, the particular "canon" the author is referring to is the literary canon. According to Wikipedia, literary canon means

"in terms of a fictional universe, is any material that is considered to be 'genuine', or can be directly referenced as material produced by the original author or creator of a series."

This means any material held within a novel or series of novels. An example is Lord of the Rings. Here, the infamous Ring is part of the literary canon of Lord of the Rings. It would be sheer coincidence if the Ring from Lord of the Rings is part of the Harry Potter series. This is also why some movies or TV shows have the following placed at the beginning or end: Any resemblance, any name, any situation that shares with this movie is pure coincidence.

This being said, the Ring has no sway on Harry Potter or his cohorts because Lord Sauron does not exist in the Harry Potter universe.

Now do you understand what literary canon means? You probably already know what it means. Consider this a refresher!

This being said, this blog may break Redwall literary canon and is written under the assumption that the reader has read one or a few Redwall books.
